Studio LK’s client recently acquired this building in Pudding Lane, which has a number of structural, cosmetic and security issues.
The client has assigned £1m to fund a programme of renovation, improvements and interior design to the building fabric, and its internal and external communal areas, which should help to resolve most of the issues, and to create a welcoming sense of place.
Studio LK was instructed by the client to run an Enquiry by Design workshop, in which to development design proposals with residents and community stakeholders.
The design proposals will make good the external damage to the building’s envelope, and revitalise the tired looking and unused large interior communal spaces and external garden space, into lively and welcoming spaces for the residents.
The design proposals will continue to be developed, with residents and stakeholders, through the Enquiry by Design process.
