Studio LK has been instructed by a private developer to undertake RIBA Stages D-L, for the retrofit and extension by way of four new flats to an existing block of 12 flats in Bermondsey, London.
The proposed extension is a light weight frame structure that can be supported by the existing structure. Improvements to the existing facades are also proposed.
Key challenges and opportunities have included working with the existing residents through Enquiry by Design, and developing a proposal that can be built within a space restricted environment.
