The Studio LK team, whilst with Keppie Design, were instructed to produce a design proposal for the refurbishment of, and a roof extension to 180 St. Vincent Street, Glasgow.
The design proposal was for two storeys of approximately 12,600 sq ft.
The brief called for the extension to be well-proportioned and modern, using a zinc cladding, whilst the refurbishment of the façade was to be in keeping with the scale and architectural language within St. Vincent Street.
The façade responds to both traditional and modern buildings in the street, by acknowledging fenestration lines within the neighbouring adjacent buildings, and by using a similar palette of materials that includes sandstone, glazing and copper paneling.
