The Studio LK team, whilst with Hirsch Bedner Associates were the original interior designers for this hotel project, who tasks included space planning, concept drawings, detailed drawings, materials, joinery and furniture selection.
Maria Cristina was a renovation and redecoration of a palatial hotel in San Sebastian, Spain that was opened in 1912. It needed to be sophisticated and reflect the “Le Belle Époque“ era of its origins.
It was also to be distinctly feminine - reflecting the Spanish regent “Maria Cristina” after whom the hotel was named. Maria was the first person to cross its threshold in 1912.
